Freaks and Geeks

Image
There are few shows, currently on the air or in the entire pantheon of television, that are so obviously crafted with as much love as 'Freaks and Geeks'. Created by Paul Feig and produced by Judd Apatow, 'Freaks' crackles with an honest writing and flawless chemistry and creates it's own wonderful universe. To watch the show is to be awash in details and obvious care that was taken to make it.The high school series has never been so real. My rating 10/10.

Gran Torino

This is a poignant, beautiful movie, maybe the best film Eastwood has ever done. The characters are fully drawn, believable, and resonate true human emotion. Crusty old Kowalski, a Korean war veteran, now living in run down Detroit, hates the Vietnamese immigrants that have moved next door to him. As time goes on, he gets to know them, and the bond that forms is wonderful, and spiritual. I won't give the ending away, but suffice it to say this is a truly wonderful story, one that you will love and tell your friends to see. If you're looking for one of those great movie experiences that so rarely comes along, you'll not find a better film to see than this.

Japanese researchers create images from thoughts using thoughts about images

Image
A team of Japanese scientists at ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories, led by researcher Yukiyasu Kamitani, have successfully processed and displayed reconstructed images directly from the ever-hackable human brain . In the experiments, the team first showed participants 400 different still images in order to suss out their visual thought patterns. They then showed them the letters that make up the word "neuron," and successfully reconstructed them via brain activity onto a screen. The full results of the tests are going to be published later this month in Neuron , but Dr. F. Krueger at ATR says that they think the tech could someday be used to hack into people's dreams.

Way to Go Manpreet!

Image
Manpreet Singh Badal Set a great example by not having any security cover. The leaders are for the people and by the people, allowing a big security cover only puts distance bettween people and leaders. Manpreet Badal is an Example for the less ethical leaders of punjab to follow. VIP securities cost a lot in terms of money and traffic problems. A truthful leader need not to worry about security, while a corrupt leader always need lots of protection from his enemies because of his bad deeds. Manpreet with his actions is not only inspiring the youth but also setting a good example.
It is not the system which is corrupt, but the people controlling the system. ----Anonymous
